Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telecare Duration: 16 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 Years of Acute Care RN Experience Required License: Must have a valid RN license Certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred Must-Have: EPIC experience required Previous travel experience preferred Ability to manage complex patient care needs Description: Palliative care focuses on providing relief from the side effects of serious illness. This unit will provide symptom management for patients with uncontrolled pain, severe nausea/vomiting, failure to thrive, fatigue, and more. The ideal candidate is a Medical-Surgical nurse looking to enhance palliative care skills while also floating to high acuity medical-surgical units. Nurses must have experience with pharmacologic and non-pharmacological pain interventions as well as equianalgesic dosing of opioids. Candidates will work with adults and geriatric patients experiencing advanced illness or imminent end of life. The primary goal is to manage pain and other distressing symptoms while addressing emotional and psychosocial needs. Daily, the focus will be on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care, emphasizing comfort and dignity.
