Jack in the Box – Assistant Manager: Store 0012 Imperial Beach, CA 91932 – $20.00–$24.00 / hour – full time Job Description Responsible for managing restaurant operations in conjunction with or in the absence of the Restaurant Manager. Uses discretion in daily management decisions with accountability for ensuring effective execution of the Service Profit Chain (SPC) and Brand Promise. Primary responsibilities are to provide excellent internal and external service, build restaurant sales and profit, and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Key Duties / Responsibilities Internal Service: Recruits, selects, trains, develops, and evaluates restaurant employees. Monitors staffing levels, implements training systems, identifies and develops internal candidates for management, and executes the "My Promise to You" and SPC to create a friendly, fun, clean, and safe environment. Motivates, recognizes, and rewards employees while adhering to company procedures and labor laws. External Service: Manages daily activities to achieve excellence in restaurant operational performance. Trains employees and holds the team accountable for guest service and food quality. Monitors adherence to JIB systems, procedures, and food safety requirements. Responds to guest concerns promptly and maintains a positive brand image through consistent food quality, guest service, and cleanliness. Higher Profits: Partners with the Restaurant Manager to analyze operational and financial performance using management tools and reports. Identifies trends, develops action plans, and consults with regional and CSC resources. Executes plans to increase sales and profitability while monitoring costs and adherence to budget and goals. Assistant Restaurant Manager Responsibilities Guest Focus: Passionate about providing a high‑quality guest experience, understands guests' perspectives, and exceeds expectations in a fast‑paced environment. Food Quality / Safety: Maintains strong awareness of food quality, safety, and cleanliness, ensuring consistently great food standards. Business Management: Adjusts to multiple demands, implements change initiatives, makes high‑quality decisions, delegates work, follows up, and maintains strong organizational skills. Performs other related duties, tasks, and responsibilities as required, assigned, and directed. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience: Internal Promote: Minimum 1 year as a Shift Leader or Assistant Manager in a customer service environment; External Recruit: Minimum 3 years as an Assistant Manager with some P&L responsibility. Must be 100% certified in all workstations. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: Minimum 18 years old, completed Assistant Manager training, ServSafe certified, proficient in English, strong interpersonal, basic math, analytical, organizational, and planning skills. Self‑starter with initiative, knowledge of personal computer applications, valid driver’s license, and vehicle for bank deposits and travel. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk approximately 85%–95% of shift; lift and carry 10–65 lbs; move freely throughout the restaurant; operate restaurant equipment and a motor vehicle; and use a computer keyboard.
