Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary assessments through video sessions, documenting client interactions meticulously from initial consultation through the conclusion of therapy.

• Evaluate clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health systematically to establish baseline data and inherent needs.
\n
• Develop and implement personalized, evidence-based treatment plans that address the specific circumstances and challenges faced by individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate engaging therapy sessions, whether individual or group-based, fostering a healing environment where clients feel supported and understood.

• Monitor ongoing client progress and adapt treatment strategies as necessary to ensure alignment with therapeutic goals and improve outcomes.

• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team that includes psychiatrists, medical professionals, and social workers to create comprehensive care plans.

• Provide referrals to additional services as appropriate and maintain a network of resources to enhance client support.

• Offer guidance and support to family members and caregivers in navigating and managing mental health challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our Counseling Center serves a diverse clientele facing a variety of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. Counselors will have the opportunity to work with individuals of all ages, ensuring that varying perspectives and experiences are acknowledged and addressed within treatment plans.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Active and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, or LICSW in the state of Massachusetts is essential.

• A successful passing score on either the NCE (National Counselor Examination) or NCMHCE (National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination) is required.

• A minimum of two years’ previous experience as a mental health counselor, with direct interaction in a clinical setting.

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, is advantageous for efficient client management.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience dealing with co-occurring disorders, including addiction and its underlying mental health issues.

• Strong knowledge of psychological medications and their side effects, as prescribed by other medical professionals, is a plus.

• Experience in employing best practices set forth by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) to drive effective treatment.

• Demonstrated ability to employ strong written and verbal communication skills in client documentation and presentations.
