Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Remittance Processing Specialist to join our overnight banking operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating high-speed imaging and extraction equipment (specifically OPEX Falcon and OPEX-150 machines) to process checks and remittances. You will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial processing while adhering to strict banking guidelines and security protocols. Shift & Business Hours: Schedule: Sunday through Thursday Hours: 9:00 PM - 5:30 AM (or 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM, depending on operational needs) Note: Shifts operate until the completion of the daily workflow. Overtime may be required based on volume. Key Responsibilities: Equipment Operation: Operate imaging and extraction equipment, specifically OPEX Falcon and OPEX-150 machines, to scan processed work and ensure output accuracy. Mail Extraction: Prepare batches of work by carefully extracting checks, payments, and remittance documents from envelopes. Verification & Reconciliation: Verify the negotiability of checks according to customer-specific instructions and balance/reconcile paper documentation. Quality & Productivity: Maintain high site productivity and quality standards in a fast-paced production environment driven by deadlines and quotas. Compliance: Ensure all customer and bank guidelines regarding operations, internal auditing, security, and general practices are strictly followed. Team Collaboration: Contribute to meeting overarching team goals and metrics while managing individual daily responsibilities. Qualifications & Requirements: Experience: Previous experience in Remittance Processing, Lockbox, or general banking operations is highly preferred. Technical Skills: Intermediate computer skills required. Demonstrated proficiency (or ability to quickly learn) various processing modes and department equipment. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze, comprehend, and execute clients' standard operating procedures (SOPs) and specific instructions. Soft Skills: strong attention to detail, open-mindedness, flexibility, and a positive attitude. Physical Demands: Excellent hand-eye coordination. Ability to sit and stand for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 15-20 pounds safely
