About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Officer to lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of its programs and operations. The successful candidate will work closely with the President to oversee a diverse team of unit directors and staff, ensuring the organization's mission is fulfilled and its impact is broadened. This role requires a strategic leader with a deep understanding of the intersection of engineering, technology, and society, and the ability to anticipate and address the needs of industry, academia, and government. The Executive Officer will be responsible for financial oversight, resource development, and fostering an environment where staff and member volunteers are empowered to excel. Applicants must have a minimum of 20 years' of progressive leadership experience in an operations, COO, or senior cross-functional management role, with a proven track record in programmatic and financial oversight. An advanced degree in engineering or a related field is required, and the candidate must be eligible for active TS-SCI clearance. The role demands strong communication skills, the ability to build effective teams, and experience in philanthropic fundraising and external engagement. The Executive Officer will also be involved in governance support, member engagement, and programmatic oversight, and will be expected to represent the organization in various external settings.
