Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct culturally sensitive and strength-based assessments for new patients and families to assess their mental health needs and treatment goals.

• Provide individualized and family therapy tailored to the identified needs of patients, utilizing evidence-based interventions that foster healing and growth.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation including billing, treatment plans, and insurance authorization forms, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.

• Develop comprehensive crisis plans, safety plans, and relapse prevention strategies to promote stable functioning among clients.

• Create personalized discharge plans that empower clients to manage their mental health independently upon completion of therapy.

• Adhere to current federal and state regulations, including ethical guidelines established by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and your specific licensure board.

• Engage in continuous professional development through training and attending workshops to maintain your licensure and enhance therapeutic skills.

• Participate in case consultations and agency meetings, contributing your insights and learning from peers.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Step Up on Second, you will work with a diverse clientele, including individuals from varying cultural backgrounds and life experiences. Our patients may be facing a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, and substance abuse. Your role will involve developing strong therapeutic relationships, understanding each client's unique context, and helping them navigate their mental health journeys.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or a related field is required, leading to licensure.

• Current licensure as a mental health therapist in California (LPCC, LMFT, or LCSW).

Compensation and Benefits\n

Step Up on Second offers a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 to 100,000 per year, commensurate with your experience and licensure. Additional benefits include:
