Min - 1st Quartile - Mid - Max$21.25 - $24.56 - $27.88 - $34.50 The expected ENTRY pay range for this position based on experience and equity within the Judicial Branch is $22.87 to $25.00. This position is non-exempt under the FLSA.

The Court Administration Assistant Senior supports the Jury department by developing and maintaining comprehensive records, reports, accounts, or files related to the activities of the Judicial Branch. The ability to work independently and utilize critical thinking to select and apply the proper established policies and procedures while solving a wide variety of complex issues is paramount to success in this role.

Position Qualifications

Education:
- High school diploma or GED
Experience:
- Three (3) years of responsible administrative experience
OR
Combined education and experience qualifications:
- Post-secondary education may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Our Preferred Candidate has:
- Previous experience in the Jury department
- Bilingual in Spanish/English
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Knowledge of:
- Customer services standards and procedures
Skill in:
- The use of computer applications including spreadsheets, databases, and word-processing software
- Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience
- Verbally communicating with others to convey information effectively
- Establishing and maintaining professional working relationships
- Applying deductive and inductive reasoning to information and facts about situations to reach logical conclusions from the reasoning process
- Recognizing issues, understanding implications, and devising creative ways to solve problems
Ability to:
- Learn and adhere to court policies and procedures
- Learn legal terminology
- Learn and adhere to rules and statutes regarding grand juries
- Multi-task and prioritize workload while handling high-volume and time-sensitive tasks
- Work with large groups of people
Essential Job Tasks

- Answers inquiries from internal and/or external customers and explains processes and procedures
- Obtains pertinent information, creates, updates, and maintains spreadsheets, databases, and reports
- Provides specialized assistance with the coordination of a program or operational function(s) including the training of staff
- Monitors and tracks jury pools and reporting groups
- Checks in and provides an orientation to prospective jurors
- Contacts jurors with a “Failure to Appear” status
- Evaluates, recommends, and implements changes to work methods and procedures that increase efficiency
- Performs quality control checks on work completed by other units
- Calculates and issues summonses for Superior Courts, City Courts, and Justice Courts
- Prioritizes and processes work according to policies and procedures, as well as cross-trains within other units
Working conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may need to communicate clearly, perceive details of objects that are close by, and maintain various physical positions for extended periods, such as sitting, standing, or walking. The job may involve using hands for tasks such as typing, handling objects, or operating tools, as well as reaching with hands and arms. Occasionally, the employee may be required to move or lift objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.
Judicial Branch facilities are located throughout Maricopa County. This position may be reassigned to other locations. Assignments will be made based upon the needs of the department.

Typically, successful candidates are hired at a salary rate up to the midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.

The Judicial Branch of Arizona in Maricopa County participates in the State Retirement systems ASRS or PSPRS. As such, mandatory membership for all full-time employees includes payroll deducted contributions consistent with each retirement system's requirements. The current contribution rate for ASRS is 12.27% and the current contribution rate for PSPRS is 5.84% and up for the defined contribution plan and 8.82% for the defined benefit plan.
