Senior Lead Software Engineer - Full Stack/Java/AWS

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, plus at least 5 years of applied experience
• Practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Advanced hands-on experience building enterprise applications with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and REST services
• Advanced experience designing modern distributed, event-driven architectures using microservices, REST and GraphQL APIs, relational databases, and asynchronous messaging
• Strong hands-on experience with React, JavaScript, and TypeScript, including frontend architecture, performance optimization, reusable components, and enterprise-scale web applications
• Experience leading technical design discussions, influencing architecture decisions, mentoring engineers, and advancing modernization across multiple applications and technology stacks
• Demonstrated ability to lead effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools, including setting expectations for validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and security and resiliency expectations; experience coaching senior engineers or leads on compliant practices and controls
• Ability to independently resolve design and functionality challenges with minimal oversight
• Strong hands-on experience building and operating scalable, resilient, secure cloud-native applications and distributed systems
• Python experience is a plus
• NoSQL database experience is a plus
• Experience with AWS services such as ECS/Fargate, Aurora PostgreSQL, CloudWatch, IAM, and Terraform
• Experience with Apache Kafka or similar event-streaming platforms
• Financial services, lending, credit origination, workflow, or document management platform experience is preferred

• Lead a global scrum team, take ownership of business outcomes, and work with Product partners to shape direction and deliver technology solutions that improve products for clients
• Identify opportunities for improvement and propose ideas that produce meaningful client and business impact
• Incorporate AI into delivered solutions and team workflows; promote AI-first development, mentor developers, and use technology to address business problems and accelerate delivery
• Define the platforms long-term direction and architect secure, scalable, resilient, flexible solutions that meet future business needs
• Champion system design, integration, and modernization practices; establish strong documentation and design patterns across teams, and address technical debt
• Lead by example, strengthen team culture, share knowledge, and support junior developers as they develop their technical capabilities
• Develop secure, high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others
• Promote and govern approved AI-assisted engineering practices across teams to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes; establish measurable validation standards and encourage proven patterns and automation across the SDLC toolchain
• Apply SDLC tools, approved AI-assisted development capabilities, and automation to increase value at scale
• Guide decisions affecting product design, application functionality, technical operations, and processes, and serve as a subject matter expert in areas of focus
• Contribute to the engineering community and advocate for firmwide SDLC frameworks, tools, and practices
