Lead Software Engineer - Java & React with Cloud

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, with 5+ years of applied experience.
• Practical experience in system design, the software development lifecycle (SDLC), application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Full-stack development experience with Java, Spring Boot, and React, including secure backend services and enterprise web interfaces.
• Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using Java/Spring Boot and database query languages.
• Experience with React.
• AWS cloud-native engineering experience, including designing, deploying, and operating scalable services with attention to reliability, security, and cost.
• Experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools and critically evaluating, validating, and refining generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Understanding of responsible AI practices in engineering, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and security and resiliency expectations; ability to guide peers in safe, effective use.
• Strong operational engineering practices, including CI/CD, resiliency, security, automation, remediation of recurring issues, and production-system stability and observability.
• Architecture and system-design leadership, including producing design artifacts, assessing technical proposals, and leading technical decisions across teams.
• Preferred: Strong architecture and design review skills, with the ability to align solutions to existing platforms and standards.
• Preferred: Experience building cloud-native solutions on AWS.
• Preferred: Experience leading modules or workstreams and mentoring colleagues in agile teams.
• Preferred: Experience with data integration and event-driven architectures, such as Kafka or similar messaging and streaming technologies.
• Preferred: Experience responsibly using authorized AI development tools, with disciplined testing and peer review.

• Deliver software solutions through design, development, and technical troubleshooting, using creative approaches to solve complex problems.
• Lead a module and support colleagues in designing and developing scalable services; facilitate technical evaluations to assess architecture, credentials, and fit with existing systems and information architecture.
• Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that operate in coordination with relevant systems.
• Identify and automate remediation of recurring issues to improve the operational stability of applications and systems.
• Use authorized AI coding tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity; validate outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding practices, and share reusable learnings with the team.
• Apply SDLC tools, including authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value of automation.
• Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensure software implementation meets design constraints.
• Analyze and visualize large, varied datasets and develop reporting to support continuous improvement of applications and systems.
• Identify less-obvious data patterns and problems, using insights to improve coding practices and system architecture.
