Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity working with students in an extended resource/self-contained special education setting, supporting grades K4 through 5th. Work alongside a dedicated team of three special education teachers within an elementary school environment, fostering positive growth and inclusive education for all learners. The position spans from July 17 to June 2, making a lasting impact throughout the academic year.

You’ll serve approximately 8-12 students, some of whom attend your classroom all day while others come in for specialized instruction in ELA or math. Supported by a classroom assistant, you’ll create a nurturing and structured learning atmosphere tailored to each child’s unique needs.

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification.
• Experience with resource or self-contained classroom settings preferred.
• Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapting curriculum.
• Ability to collaborate with other educators and assistive staff to create inclusive learning experiences.
• Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
• Compassion, patience, and creativity in adapting lessons for diverse learning styles.

What You’ll Do:

• Design and implement individualized learning strategies for students with varied abilities.
• Deliver targeted instruction in ELA and math to both full-day and pull-out students.
• Create and track progress toward IEP goals, maintaining thorough documentation.
• Facilitate positive learning experiences and address behavioral or learning challenges.
• Partner with fellow special education teachers, general education staff, and administration.
• Foster a supportive, safe, and structured classroom environment for all students.
