Harbor Child Care is seeking its next Executive Director/CEO—an exciting opportunity to lead one of Long Island’s largest nonprofit providers of full-day child care, early childhood education, and school-age programming.

For more than 50 years, Harbor has supported Nassau County’s children and families. Today, the organization serves approximately 1,000 children through six centers across the county.

THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director/CEO will provide strategic and operational leadership across Harbor’s programs and locations. Key responsibilities include:
• Advancing Harbor’s mission, strategy, and growth
• Maintaining high-quality, child-centered programs
• Ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence
• Providing strong financial and workforce leadership
• Collaborating with the Board and building community, government, and funding partnerships

WHO WE ARE SEEKING
The successful candidate will have significant senior leadership experience in early childhood education, nonprofit management, education, human services, or a related field. Experience leading a multi-site organization, managing complex operations and budgets, developing leaders, and working with a governing board is highly desirable.

A master’s degree in a related field is required. A doctorate is preferred but not required.

Harbor is looking for a collaborative, mission-driven executive who can balance strategic vision with strong operational execution.

POSITION DETAILS
Nassau County, New York
▪ Full-time, exempt
▪ Salary: $180,000–$215,000
