What you bring:

• Current Michigan Special Education Teacher license (required)
• Experience working with elementary-aged students in a special education setting
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff
• Creative approach to lesson planning and adapting curriculum to student needs
• Ability to maintain a positive, structured classroom with a maximum of 8 students

Your responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction and support based on IEPs, adjusting methods to suit diverse learning styles
• Foster a safe, patient, and encouraging classroom atmosphere so every student feels welcome and empowered
• Partner with general education teachers, aides, and specialists to promote inclusion and academic progress
• Effectively track and document student progress, making data-driven adjustments as needed
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians, celebrating milestones and addressing any concerns
• Uphold all state and federal special education regulations and documentation requirements
