JOB TITLE: Vice President, Global Platform Lifecycle Management

LOCATION: Lakewood, CO

JOB SUMMARY

The Vice President, Global Platform Lifecycle Management (PLM) is the senior enterprise leader responsible for governing and executing the full lifecycle of every platform from approved project charter through retirement. This role ensures disciplined lifecycle strategy, cross‑functional alignment, and delivery of platform commitments that directly support Terumo BCT’s long‑term growth, innovation, and operational excellence.

This leader brings exceptional organizational rigor, technical credibility, and executive presence. They synthesize complex processes, and procedures into clear lifecycle strategies, and they influence senior leaders through data, analytics, and structured storytelling. The VP PLM builds deep relationships across R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, Operations, Strategic Marketing, and Commercialization, ensuring seamless lifecycle execution and providing critical inputs to enterprise prioritization.

Success in this role means the organization consistently delivers platform roadmaps, meets lifecycle commitments, and makes high‑quality decisions grounded in data, customer needs, and enterprise strategy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead Platform Lifecycle Execution & Governance

• Enable enterprise prioritization by providing Strategic Marketing with lifecycle, cost, resource, budget, timeline, risk, and feasibility inputs required for informed prioritization decisions.
• Translate approved Project Charters and light TPPs defined by Strategic Marketing into detailed product requirements and executable development plans, ensuring customer needs are addressed throughout development and the portfolio is optimized across the lifecycle.
• Following SPC approval, assume program leadership and accountability for delivery across the product lifecycle through Platform Lifecycle Management Teams, leading cross-functional execution of New Product Development, Line Extensions, Sustaining initiatives, and product retirement against agreed scope, timelines, budgets, and business commitments.
• Own the enterprise phase-gate governance framework and, following project transfer, lead phase-gate reviews with cross-functional leaders, ensuring clear decisions and timely escalation of significant risks, deviations, investment decisions, or milestones to the Executive Team.

Cross‑Functional Leadership & Enterprise Influence

• Build deep, trust‑based relationships across R&D, Quality, Regulatory & Clinical, Operations, Strategic Marketing, Commercialization and regional teams to ensure seamless lifecycle execution.
• Influence senior leaders through strong technical credibility, structured storytelling, and data‑driven insights while standing firm when needed to guide enterprise decisions.
• Serve as a key advisor to the Enterprise Marketing Leader, shaping enterprise strategy, platform evolution, and long‑term investment priorities.

Data, Analytics & Decision Support

• Leverage data, analytics, and financial modeling to drive lifecycle management, platform prioritization, and investment decisions.
• Establish enterprise standards for lifecycle metrics, dashboards, and performance reporting.

Lead, Develop & Elevate PLM Capability

• Build, coach, and mentor a high-performing team of senior PLM/Product Marketing leaders, creating clear accountability for platform roadmaps, lifecycle execution, product expertise and governance.
• Strengthen leadership capability through targeted development, succession planning, and exposure to enterprise-level priorities and initiatives.
• Foster a culture of rigor, transparency, accountability, and disciplined decision-making across the PLM organization.
• Elevate PLM capability across the enterprise by establishing and reinforcing common lifecycle frameworks, governance processes, and decision-making standards.
• Build enterprise understanding of platform roadmaps, lifecycle requirements, and prioritization rationale, promoting cross-functional collaboration and shared accountability for lifecycle outcomes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred

Experience

• Minimum 18 years of progressive experience in medical device or pharmaceutical industries.
• Demonstrated expertise in product lifecycle management, platform strategy, or enterprise program leadership.
• Proven ability to lead complex, cross‑functional initiatives in highly matrixed global organizations.
• Strong analytical, financial modeling, and business case development skills.
• Exceptional executive presence, negotiation skills, and ability to influence senior leaders.
• Experience managing global supplier, manufacturing, and distribution partnerships.

Target Pay Range: $246,000.00 to $307,500.00 - Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data

Target Bonus on Base: 40.0%
