About the Position

Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry RN – Ohio

Start Date: November 16, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: Day shift, 3x12 hour shifts per week (weekdays and some weekends); 3-4 weekend days per month required

Highlights:

• Patient ratio of 4:1 across all shifts
• Mixed medical-surgical and telemetry unit with 27 beds and an average daily census of 23 patients
• EPIC EMR system used for documentation
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and social services
• Float to lower acuity units as needed within the organization
• 36 hours of orientation provided

Requirements:

• Active Ohio RN license (compact license accepted) in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 1-2 years of recent RN experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and IV certification required
• EPIC experience preferred
• Nursing education from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Strong skills in starting and maintaining IVs, peripheral line care, PICC line management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, chest tube management, and oxygen administration
• Experience with isolation precautions, rapid response/code teams, and substance withdrawal management
• Travel nursing experience is a plus (PCU experience NOT required)
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and multitasking abilities
• Two professional references required: at least one from a manager/director or formal supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference
• Must complete urgent Ohio fingerprinting process immediately upon contract signing

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care for adult and geriatric populations with general medical conditions including organ failure, altered level of consciousness, behavioral issues, opioid withdrawal, and developmental delays
• Start and manage IV therapy and administer medications safely
• Monitor vital signs and patient responses to treatment
• Assist with bedside procedures including Foley catheter insertion, paracentesis, peritoneal dialysis, and lumbar punctures
• Educate patients and families on treatments and self-care strategies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement patient care plans
• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC EMR
• Follow all hospital policies and maintain patient safety standards
