A profitable, founder-led B2B ecommerce software company that has been around for about 10 years. Wholesalers, manufacturers and distributors use the platform to sell online, and it processes hundreds of millions of dollars in orders a year. The team is about 17 people, fully remote and uses AI tools every day. Customers stay, and leads close at a high rate. What's missing is a steady source of new pipeline, and this hire will build it.
The role
This is the company's first dedicated outbound hire. You'll build its outbound engine from scratch and own it, reporting directly to the founder. There's no existing playbook. You'll get strong customer data, case studies and a clear picture of the ideal customer, plus the freedom to build the motion your way.
What you'll do
- Build target account and contact lists of wholesalers, manufacturers and distributors using tools like Clay, Apollo or AI Ark, plus tech signals such as which ERP, shipping or accounting software a company uses.
- Write and run personalized multi-step outbound sequences, test messaging and keep improving reply and meeting rates.
- Turn customer data and case studies into messaging tailored to each vertical.
- Book qualified meetings and hand them to the closing team, and run early sales conversations when needed.
- Track and report pipeline numbers (accounts reached, replies, meetings, opportunities) to show the channel is working.
What we're looking for
- About 3–7 years in growth, demand gen, GTM engineering or outbound at a B2B company.
- You've built an outbound or lead-gen motion largely on your own, not just run someone else's playbook, and you have numbers to show for it: meetings booked, pipeline created, reply rates.
- Hands-on with modern prospecting and data tools and with AI-driven list building, enrichment and personalization.
- Self-directed and comfortable owning a channel at a small company with no sales playbook.
- Bonus: experience selling or marketing to wholesalers, manufacturers or distributors, or at B2B commerce or ERP-adjacent SaaS.
