What You'll Do

• Provide obstetric and gynecological care in a hospital setting
• Perform C-sections, vaginal deliveries, and manage obstetric emergencies
• Conduct procedures such as suction D&C, manage ectopic pregnancies, ovarian torsion, and abnormal bleeding
• Collaborate with support staff and hospitalist team for patient management
• Document patient encounters accurately in the EPIC EMR system
• Manage both scheduled clinic days and emergency call coverage, with some clinic responsibility if desired
• Offer high-quality care to a diverse patient population in a fast-paced environment

What You Need

• Current VA medical license and valid DEA certification
• Minimum of 2+ years OB/GYN experience
• Ability to perform procedures such as C-sections and vaginal deliveries
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility to cover various shifts including call and clinic days

About the Assignment

This assignment is at Bon Secours - Southside Medical Center, a bustling hospital featuring 9 beds in labor & delivery and 20 postpartum beds. You'll work alongside a skilled team including hospitalist OB providers, surgical staff, and nurses to deliver exceptional patient care. The hospital handles approximately 2-3 nursery admissions daily, with most high-risk cases managed by MFM specialists. Credentialing takes 60-90 days, but temporary permits may be available for providers with a clean background and malpractice history.
