Description:
Looking for locum OB/GYN coverage for urgent needs.
Practice setting includes OB/GYN hospital and potential for clinic coverage.
Must be willing and able to cover both hospital and clinic.
If taking clinic, night call will not be required after clinic days.
Specific dates of coverage needed are September 4-6, 10, 14, 18-20, 24, 28 and October 5, 12, 16-18, 22, 26.
Ongoing availability is needed, as specific dates are being worked through.
Clinic coverage is from 8:30am-3pm with a 1-hour lunch.
Call coverage is from 7am-7am, which is a 24-hour shift, plus clinic with approximately 20 patients on the schedule.
Typically, on an on-call day, clinic hours are from 9:30am-2:30pm, allowing time to round in the morning at the hospital.
Coverage is needed due to one provider being out for personal time.
The call ratio is 1 to 4.
There are 9 beds in Labor and Delivery and 20 postpartum beds.
The practice includes 4 physicians and support staff such as OB hospitalists, surgical assistants, and 3 to 4 nurses per shift.
On average, there are 2 to 3 nursery admissions per day.
The average call-back per 24-hour shift is less than 1, with calls received from the answering service.
Documentation and EMR system used is EPIC.
Specific procedures required include C-section, vaginal deliveries, suction D&C, ectopic pregnancies, ovarian torsion, and abnormal bleeding.
Most high-risk patients are handled by MFM.
Laborists will care for unreferred patients in the hospital for deliveries and rounding.
Credentialing takes 60-90 days, but temporary approvals may be granted if the provider has a clean background and no malpractice history.
Preference for local candidates, but open to fully covering travel expenses.
