Job Summary

Agency 8 is partnering with a global industrial solutions company in Southeast Houston to hire a Bilingual HR Assistant/Administrator who will support the HR Generalist and Director of People & Culture across daily HR and payroll operations. This role provides hands-on support with onboarding, multi-state payroll, benefits administration, compliance, and employee inquiries, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all HR processes.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, in-person environment where professionalism, confidentiality, and service to employees are core values.  ADP Workforce Now and Spanish fluency are required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate employee records and electronic files in ADP and shared drives
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including I 9s, background checks, drug testing, and new hire documentation
  • Assist with HR functions such as VOEs, unemployment claims, workers’ comp, FMLA, COBRA, job descriptions, and compliance tasks
  • Support  multi-state bi-weekly payroll processing and maintain certified payroll and union tables in ADP
  • Assist with state tax notices, filings, deposits, and account updates
  • Help administer employee benefits and reconcile monthly benefit invoices
  • Code HR-related invoices and maintain spreadsheets and reports
  • Respond to employee questions regarding payroll, benefits, policies, and general HR inquiries
  • Assist with recruitment efforts and candidate coordination
  • Maintain office and kitchen supplies; support facilities and building-related tasks
  • Assist with company events, lunches, and team activities
  • Provide general administrative support to the Director of People & Culture and HR team
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred
  • 1–2 years of HR experience and 1–2 years of payroll experience preferred
  • ADP Workforce Now (WFN) experience is required
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is required
  • Certified payroll experience is a plus
  • Strong understanding of HR and payroll compliance
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • High ethical standards and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and work in an office environment for extended periods
