Key Account Manager

Savino Del Bene

Savino Del Bene is a Global Freight Forwarding Company headquartered in Florence, Italy. With more than 285 offices and 4,500 employees globally, Savino Del Bene is one of the leading logistics companies that offers import, export, customs brokerage services, and warehousing third-party solutions servicing several Vertical Markets. The successful candidate will be required to work onsite for the first three months and then will will move to hybrid schedule as long as performance meets expectations.

Essential Job Functions:

In this role as Key Account Manager, your primary objective will be to retain and develop existing business by leveraging strong relationships with assigned accounts. You will be responsible for understanding the customer’s business and supply chain strategies and will ensure that all operational requirements are proactively identified and addressed with the appropriate company resources.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify and build strong relationships with key account stakeholders.
  • Ensure understanding of the customer’s organization and decision-making process.
  • Directly manage the Key Account(s) in alignment with agreed-upon targets while providing continuous improvement solutions, with a focus on business retention, long-term relationships, and GP growth.
  • Maintain compliance with the company’s sales management processes and systems and ensure correct and timely updates in the customer relationship system (CRM).
  • Negotiate rates with customers in alignment with sales and product strategy and ensure rate sheets, quotes, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are documented and maintained as needed.
  • Monitor monthly performance and provide proactive corrective actions in case of deviations.
  • Conduct regular and structured review sessions (QBRs) with the assigned account(s) focusing on a review of current customer priorities, operational execution, excellence, and process for continuous innovation and future opportunities.

Qualifications Needed:

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelors strongly desired
  • 3-5 years’ experience with a freight forwarder, import/export, or a similar industry is strongly desired
  • Interpersonal and analytical skills required
  • 2-5 years of sales experience preferred
  • Good interpersonal skills required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Microsoft Office & ability to learn and use other applications
  • Must have strong ethical standards
