Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to evaluate their physical condition, using diagnostic tests and functional abilities evaluations.
• Develop and implement individualized therapeutic programs that are directly aligned with clients' goals, ensuring they address pain relief, functional improvements, and rehabilitation needs.
• Oversee and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) in executing treatment plans, ensuring adherence to best practices and therapeutic standards.
• Provide in-home physical therapy sessions as prescribed by physicians, creating accessible options for clients within the community.
• Administer manual therapeutic exercises and instruct clients in both manual and non-manual exercise regimens that support their rehabilitation progress.
• Evaluate, fit, and adjust any necessary prosthetic and orthotic devices, communicating further modifications to the healthcare team as needed.
• Engage actively in the interdisciplinary team by participating in case conferences and collaborating with other caregivers to optimize treatment strategies.
• Document clinical records accurately, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, while utilizing EMR software effectively.
• Monitor clients' responses to therapy and suggest alterations to their care plans, facilitating a responsive and agile approach to rehabilitation.
• Educate clients and their families on effective self-care practices and the use of assistive devices, promoting independence and well-being.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clientele encompasses a diverse range of individuals requiring rehabilitation services, including post-surgical patients, those with chronic pain, and individuals recovering from strokes or sports injuries. In this role, you will tailor your therapy approaches to meet the unique needs of each patient, focusing on their individual health circumstances and personal recovery goals.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is required.
• An active Physical Therapist license in the State of Virginia, free from sanctions or board proceedings.
• Proficiency in utilizing electronic medical records systems, particularly Web PT, for seamless documentation and patient management.
• A comprehensive understanding of current physical therapy techniques and methodologies supported by recent research.

Preferred Experience

• Demonstrated expertise in various manual therapy modalities, showcasing the ability to personalize treatment based on patient feedback.
• Track record of developing successful exercise programs and adapting them to meet changing patient needs.
• Experience in engaging with multidisciplinary teams to contribute to holistic patient care strategies.

Compensation and Benefits
