About the Position

Job Opportunity – Critical Care Float Pool RN – Virginia

Start Date: October 26, 2026

Schedule: Night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week; every other weekend and every other holiday required; must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays including Thanksgiving, Black Friday, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day

Highlights:

• Float to various ICU and intermediate care units including Medical ICU, Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU, Coronary Care Unit, Level 1 Surgical Trauma ICU, Neuro and Neurosurgery ICU, and Critical Care Special Pathogens Unit
• Patient ratios: 1.5:1 days, 2:1 nights for ICU settings; ED boarder support as needed
• Epic EMR system utilized across all units
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and physical therapy
• 13-week assignment with up to 40 hours approved time off (no RTO during first 2 weeks)
• Care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations across multiple specialty areas

Requirements:

• Current Virginia RN license (pending acceptable, must be in hand by Wednesday before start date)
• Minimum 2 years of recent critical care nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• TNCC and CCRN certifications preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Proficiency in care of ventilated patients, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, ICP monitoring, pulmonary artery line monitoring, and procedural sedation preferred
• Level 1 Trauma experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Must be willing to float within scope of practice according to facility float policy
• BSN preferred
