Job Opportunity – NICU Registered Nurse – Virginia

Schedule: Nights, 36 or 48 hours per week; 13 or 26-week contract available; 3 weekends per 6-week scheduling period; 2 out of 3 winter holidays required

Highlights:

• Level III/IV NICU with 54-bed capacity caring for neonates and infants with complex medical conditions
• Advanced practice environment with high-frequency ventilation, ECMO, whole body cooling, and critical post-operative care
• Patient ratios: 1:1 or 1:2 for ICU patients, 1:3 for stepdown
• Epic charting system with 36 hours of orientation provided
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, physical therapy, and social services
• Float opportunities to PICU, Pediatrics, Postpartum, and Labor & Delivery within scope of practice

Requirements:

• Active Virginia RN license (may submit with license pending; must be in hand by Wednesday before start date)
• Minimum 2 years of full-time Level III NICU experience required; Level IV experience highly preferred
• BLS and NRP certifications required at time of submission
• Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certificate required (may be pending at submission)
• Epic charting system experience required
• Strong competency in high-frequency ventilation, conventional ventilators, iNO, tracheostomy care, NIPPV/NIMV, IV drip management, hemodynamic support, post-operative care, and whole body cooling
• Demonstrated expertise in IV placement, lab draws, wound/drain/line care, ostomy care, ABG interpretation, and medication calculations
• Experience with patient ratio of 1:3
• Flu vaccination required (no exemptions)
• Nursys verification and professional references required with submission
• BSN preferred
