Property Accountant

Looking to launch or grow your accounting career in commercial real estate? A well-established and employee-owned real estate company is seeking a Property Accountant to join its St. Louis team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Accounting graduate with a property accounting internship or an accounting professional with 1-2 years of experience who is eager to build a long-term career in real estate accounting. You'll work closely with experienced accounting and property management professionals while gaining exposure to financial reporting, month-end close, budgeting, and property operations. What You’ll Do Prepare monthly financial statements and reporting packages for assigned properties. Assist with month-end close, including journal entries and account reconciliations. Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts. Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, and tenant billings. Assist with common area maintenance (CAM) and real estate tax reconciliations. Monitor cash activity and prepare deposits and cash reports. Partner with property managers and the accounting team on budgeting, reporting, and special projects. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 1+ years of accounting experience, or a recent Accounting graduate with a property accounting, real estate, or corporate accounting internship. Understanding of basic accounting principles and financial statements. Experience with MRI, Yardi, or other accounting software is a plus. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and willingness to learn. Positive attitude and desire to grow within a collaborative team environment.
