POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES:

\n

\n

Slot3D is evolving from a slotting tool into an agentic workflow platform for warehousing operations. The platform continuously draws operating data from a customer’s WMS and ERP, surfaces the cost and capacity being lost inside it, and puts that analysis in front of the people who can act on it. What it cannot do is know a customer’s business, judge which opportunities are worth the disruption of chasing, or get a change executed on the floor. That is this role.

This position is for someone who has engineered or run warehouse operations and wants to apply that experience across a portfolio of customers rather than a single building. You will work directly with distribution centers and 3PLs, learning how they operate, using Slot3D to surface where money is going, and helping their teams understand, trust, and execute what the analysis recommends. Success is measured the way your customers measure it: travel time removed, replenishment avoided, space recovered, and dollars saved.

We have historically hired engineers into this role and taught them warehousing. We are deliberately inverting that. We want deep warehousing judgment first, and we will teach you the tool.

This is a remote role with approximately 25% travel to customer sites.

\n

\n

RESPONSIBILITIES:

\n

\n

\n
• Learn each customer’s operation in depth — product profile, order profile, labor model, equipment, constraints — and translate it into how Slot3D is configured for them.
\n
• Work with the agentic engine to surface opportunities across the customer base: run analyses and experiments, test parameter changes before they reach the floor, and separate the recommendations worth acting on from the rest.
\n
• Turn analysis into executable work — move sets, reslot plans, layout and equipment changes — sequenced so a live operation can absorb them.
\n
• Build and defend the business case: quantify expected return before a change, and track realized savings and missed opportunity after it.
\n
• Build the 3D warehouse models and layouts the analysis depends on, working across both the Slot3D design environment and the Operations platform.
\n
• Train customer teams to use Slot3D themselves — not just which buttons to press, but how to think about slotting economics and read what the engine is telling them.
\n
• Serve as the warehousing voice inside the company: bring what you see in the field back to the product team.
\n
• Support the broader customer base on product questions as they arise, responding promptly — Customer for Life is how we operate.

• Deliver assigned consulting and implementation engagements on schedule and to standard.
\n

REQUIREMENTS:

\n

\n

\n
• 5+ years in warehousing or distribution operations — as an industrial engineer supporting a DC, or running one.
\n
• Working command of distribution economics: picking and replenishment labor, travel time, storage cost, space and capacity, and equipment tradeoffs.
\n
• Familiarity with WMS and ERP data — how it is structured, what it leaves out, and how to sanity check it.
\n
• Strong analytical skills and real comfort in data. You should be able to tell when a number is wrong.
\n
• Comfort working alongside AI-driven tooling — interrogating what it recommends rather than accepting or dismissing it.
\n
• Excellent verbal and written communication. You may present to a VP of Operations in the morning and walk a floor supervisor through a move list that afternoon, and both have to land.
\n
• The credibility to tell a customer their plan is wrong, and the judgment to be right.
\n
• Willingness to learn 3D modeling and CAD-based layout work.
\n
• Ability to work independently across multiple customers and competing priorities.
\n
• Ability to travel approximately 25%.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

\n

\n

\n
• Hands-on slotting experience, through a dedicated tool or through spreadsheets and judgment
\n
• Direct experience with a major WMS (Manhattan, Blue Yonder, Körber, Infor, Softeon, or similar)
\n
• 3PL experience, or multi-site and multi-client exposure
\n
• AutoCAD or other 3D/CAD modeling experience
\n
• Lean, Six Sigma, or formal continuous improvement training
\n
• Labor management systems and engineered labor standards
\n
• SQL, Power BI, or similar tools for data work
\n
• Consulting, customer success, or end-user training experience
\n
• Automated or semi-automated facilities (pick modules, AS/RS, goods-to-person, AMRs)
\n
• E-commerce, omnichannel, or high-SKU-velocity fulfillment profiles
\n

Mastering all of the preferred skills is not required; meeting several of them is. You will have the opportunity to build proficiency in the rest in this role.

QUALIFICATIONS:

\n

\n

·        Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field — or equivalent experience running distribution operations.

\n

·        A track record of measurable operational improvement, with the numbers to show for it.

\n

\n
