We are seeking our first dedicated Account Executive to scale the Maven Bio commercial engine for life sciences AI. We are turning a founder-led sales motion into a repeatable playbook on a small, intense team. You will own the full sales cycle from self-sourced outbound through close, and the playbook every AE after you will inherit. About Maven Bio Maven Bio is a YC-backed, 10-person seed-stage team in Boston building the market intelligence layer for life sciences AI. Mid-size pharma and biotech teams use Maven daily to screen assets, build competitive landscapes, evaluate opportunities, and track their indications. Three of the top 10 pharma companies are onboarded, and we have 20+ enterprise accounts across pharma, consulting, and investing. Customers report a 40% reduction in low-level analytical work. We are growing fast and heading for a Series A. Our buyers are senior BD, CI, Strategy, and Investing leaders at top pharma, life sciences consulting firms, and biotech investors. Role Focus Areas Pipeline generation. You self-source pipeline through calls, email, LinkedIn, events, and executive networking, especially in your first six months. In-place SDR works alongside you to multiply sourcing volume. Full sales cycle execution. You run sharp discovery, translate vague pain into clear Maven use cases, deliver compelling demos, run pilots that convert, and close. You navigate AI committees, procurement, security review, and legal. Sales motion development. You partner with the founders on positioning, pricing, packaging, sequences, and narrative, and you turn early wins into the repeatable playbook future AEs and BDRs will inherit. Multi-threading and expansion. You build deals across users, champions, economic buyers, and AI committees, and you stay close after close to drive expansion revenue and renewals. Qualifications Builder mindset. When you see a gap, you ship something rather than wait for permission. Outbound hunter and closer. You self-source pipeline through calls, email, LinkedIn, and creative outbound, and you have closed enterprise deals at $50K+ ACV running the full sales cycle end to end. Life sciences fluent or a fast learner. Most likely paths in: market intelligence (AlphaSense, Tegus, GLG), legal AI (Luminance, Harvey, Ironclad), life sciences data (Veeva, Clarivate, Komodo), or high-output enterprise AI (Glean, Hebbia, Writer). AI-native. You use AI tools every day to research accounts, draft outreach, build proposals, and compound your output, and you are excited to sell AI to a market just waking up to it. Strong communicator. You hold the room across the table from a VP of CI at a top-10 pharma, and your written communication is sharp. Competitive intensity. You have ranked top-3 on your team or made President's Club, and you are willing to outwork the market. Startup-fit. You want ownership and equity over a corporate ladder, you operate with high intensity, and you want to grow into senior, enterprise, or sales leadership as the team scales.
