Details PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown setting with a focus on Neuro Stepdown patients 36 hours per week on night shift (3x12s, 19:00-7:30) Rotating weekdays and weekends with rotating holiday coverage Float required within the OSU health system EPIC EMR experience required Requirements Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 1 year of PCU-level RN experience required, specifically with neuro patients Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program Required neuro skills include craniotomy, CVA, intracranial bleeds, post-TPA care, pre/post neurosurgery, and traumatic brain injury care Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, and peripheral line care/management required Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and Heparin protocols required Experience with isolation precautions/PPE, nasal cannula, and oxygen administration required Two professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role and the second from a Charge RN or higher (no coworker references accepted) Additional Information Provide nursing care to PCU/stepdown patients with a focus on neurological and neurosurgical conditions Candidates with only 1 year of experience will require manager review prior to offer First-time travelers are welcome to apply Locals are accepted at the same pay rate Former employees are eligible for assignment consideration after 6 months away from the facility Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible for traveler positions RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly after signing the contract, including travel to a fingerprinting location if within driving distance or completing a mailed fingerprinting packet if not American Traveler Job ID P-732948.
