Job Title: Waterjet Operator Job Description

The Waterjet Operator sets up and runs waterjet cutting equipment to produce parts to precise specifications. This role involves loading materials, programming and adjusting the machine to required tolerances, and interpreting blueprints to ensure accurate dimensions and high-quality output.

• Load raw material onto the waterjet machine in a safe and efficient manner.
• Set up and program the waterjet machine according to job requirements and specified tolerances.
• Interpret and follow blueprints and technical drawings to achieve correct dimensions and part configurations.
• Make standard computations related to dimensions of workpieces and tooling to ensure accuracy.
• Monitor machine operation during cutting to maintain quality and detect issues early.
• Perform basic adjustments to machine settings to optimize cutting performance and part quality.
• Handle finished parts, inspect them against specifications, and identify any deviations.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safe and efficient operations.
• Follow all safety guidelines and procedures when operating equipment and handling materials.
• Lift and move materials and parts weighing up to 50 pounds as needed for production.

• At least 1 year of hands-on experience operating a waterjet machine.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
• Proficiency in setting up waterjet equipment, including loading material and configuring machine programs.
• Strong attention to detail when working with specified tolerances and dimensions.
• Capability to make standard computations relating to workpiece dimensions and tooling.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly as part of daily tasks.

• Comfort working with production machinery in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills for machine adjustments.
• Reliability and punctuality for consistent first-shift work.
• Strong focus on safety and adherence to established procedures.

You will join a small, close-knit team in a climate-controlled facility that supports steady, first-shift work and predictable weekday hours. The environment encourages reliability, safety, and skill development with modern equipment, offering a stable setting where you can grow your technical abilities and enjoy a balanced work schedule.

You will work in a manufacturing facility with approximately 15 employees, providing a small-team atmosphere and opportunities for direct collaboration. The workspace is climate controlled, helping maintain comfort and consistent working conditions throughout the year. This role is on first shift only, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with minimal weekend work, offering predictable hours and regular daytime scheduling.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, KS.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Wichita,KS.
