Corporate Accounting Manager

Position Summary This role supports key aspects of the monthly close, financial reporting, and corporate accounting processes. The position works closely with cross‑functional teams to promote accuracy, consistency, and continuous improvement in financial reporting and operational support. It follows a hybrid schedule, with three in‑office days per week. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Other duties may be required and assigned. Financial Close & Reporting Assist in managing the monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes for assigned corporate entities Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses to support accuracy and completeness Contribute to the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP Collaborate with FP&A to help analyze financial results and understand key variances and trends Corporate Allocations & Expense Management Support and help oversee corporate allocation processes across communities and departments Participate in the development, refinement, and application of allocation methodologies Help ensure allocations are applied consistently and aligned with company practices Assist in evaluating allocation drivers and identifying opportunities for improvement Accruals & Expense Recognition Support the monthly accrual process to promote timely and accurate expense recognition Partner with department leaders to facilitate the submission of accruals and provide guidance as needed Review accruals for reasonableness and completeness Contribute to ongoing improvements in accrual processes and coordination General Ledger & Technical Accounting Help maintain the integrity of the general ledger and chart of accounts Assist in researching accounting treatment for transactions and documenting conclusions Support adherence to accounting policies and procedures Contribute to technical accounting documentation, as needed Internal Controls & Compliance Promote adherence to internal control processes and company policies Participate in identifying opportunities to enhance controls and improve efficiency Assist with internal and external audit requests and supporting documentation Team Collaboration & Development Provide guidance and support to accounting team members Coordinate and help manage the offshore accounting team, optimizing workflows to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability Foster a collaborative, team‑oriented environment Process Improvement & System Help identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve workflows Support system enhancements and implementations Collaborate with other departments to improve data accuracy and reporting effectiveness Perform other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities Supervise and develop Senior/Staff Accountants, including work review, coaching, and prioritization of deliverables Review work and provide feedback to ensure accuracy and consistency Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be capable of performing each essential duty satisfactorily. Educational Requirements And Experience Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (required) CPA preferred 5–8+ years of accounting experience, with some leadership or supervisory exposure Experience in multi‑entity or multi‑location environments preferred Public accounting experience is a plus Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP Strong organizational and analytical skills Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities Effective communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents Ability to effectively present information to top management and/or boards of directors Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations Ability to work under minimum supervision and demonstrate self‑initiative Must be detail‑oriented Must be results‑driven and goal‑oriented Must be cognitive and able to work under pressure and meet deadlines The ability to multi‑task and complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner Must be supportive of a team‑spirited environment Computer Skills Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems (e.g., Yardi, or similar ERP) Ability to use Microsoft Windows, email, and the Internet Environmental Adaptability Works primarily indoors in a climate‑controlled setting. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to talk or hear. The Team Member is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The Team Member is occasionally required to stand and walk. The Team Member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
