Minimum 3 years of Business Development Experience

Venteon is currently seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to fill an opening with a Construction Company located in the Metro Detroit area. Must have experience in bidding, estimating and selling construction projects.


Requirements of the Business Development Manager

• Bachelor s degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or client relations, preferably within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction markets, industry players, and procurement processes.
• Exceptional negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experienced with Design & Build, Public-Private partnership, or government bidding processes

Responsibilities of the Business Development Manager

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities in commercial, site-work, and infrastructure construction sectors.
• Build and maintain relationships with developers, architects, engineers, consultants, and public/private sector stakeholders.
• Research market trends, competitor activities, and potential client needs to develop tailored proposals and pitches.
• Prepare and present business proposals, RFPs, and tenders in collaboration with estimating and project management teams.
• Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to build brand awareness.
• Maintain a robust pipeline of potential projects and clients using CRM tools.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless handover from business development to project execution.
• Monitor key performance metrics and report on business development activity and outcomes.
