Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough examinations and evaluations of pediatric patients to determine their specific rehabilitation needs.
• Implement and monitor customized therapeutic treatment plans aimed at restoring function, improving mobility, and alleviating pain.
• Consult with the team of physicians regarding patient progress and treatment modifications as necessary.
• Conduct regular screenings and assessments to track patient status and outcomes.
• Provide training and counseling to families and caregivers on home programming and discharge planning, ensuring a seamless transition from therapy.
• Coordinate care with office staff and other specialists to deliver holistic treatment modalities.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with patients and families about progress, challenges, and related therapeutic issues.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role is working with pediatric patients, ranging from infants to adolescents, who require rehabilitation due to developmental disorders, orthopedic injuries, or neurological conditions. Your work will not only address their physical needs but will also incorporate strategies to promote social skills and emotional support throughout the rehabilitation process.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy is required; however, a Master's or Doctorate in Physical Therapy is preferred.
• A valid Florida Physical Therapist License must be obtained prior to employment.
• Exceptional ability to work with pediatric patients and assess their unique therapy needs.
• Familiarity with hospital medicine practices and treatment methodologies.
• A minimum of one year of clinical experience in an acute care hospital or rehabilitation setting.

Preferred Experience

• Proficiency in trigger point therapy techniques.
• Demonstrated strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it pertains to pediatric patients.
• Experience with patient education and family support strategies.

Compensation and Benefits
