Work Environment

You will work onsite at our outpatient facility in Punta Gorda, Florida, where a collaborative and supportive culture thrives. You'll spend 40 hours per week engaging directly with patients and working closely with colleagues to ensure comprehensive care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough examinations and evaluations of patients with functional limitations and disabilities.
• Develop, implement, and modify personalized treatment plans based on patients' needs.
• Consult with healthcare providers on each patient's continuum of care, ensuring seamless transitions between therapy and other treatments.
• Document and maintain accurate records of patient evaluations, treatment plans, and progress, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Engage and educate patients and their families about treatment protocols and home exercises to enhance recovery.
• Participate in departmental leadership functions including community outreach, program development, and supervision of support staff and students.
• Stay abreast of advancements in physical therapy through self-study and continuing education programs.
• Attend staff meetings to contribute ideas and updates regarding patient care strategies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clinic primarily serves a diverse adult and elderly population with orthopedic conditions. You will treat individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic pain conditions, leveraging your expertise to design tailored rehabilitation programs that promote optimal recovery.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution is required.
• Current state licensure in Physical Therapy is mandatory.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is essential for employment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills are crucial for patient interaction and documentation.
• Proficient computer and word processing skills are necessary to manage patient records and documentation.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, experience in orthopedic rehabilitation or a specialty certification in a relevant area will enhance your application. A background in clinical leadership or mentoring other therapists or interns is also advantageous.
