Work Environment

This full-time position is located onsite at our facility in Punta Gorda, where you will work from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. The rehab center is equipped with advanced therapeutic technology, treatment areas, and resources that enable therapists to implement their clinical skills effectively. Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, you will:

• Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including detailed medical history reviews and physical assessments, to develop tailored rehabilitation plans.
• Employ customized treatment protocols based on the most current evidence-based practices to manage patients' conditions effectively.
• Continuously monitor patient progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary in consultation with interdisciplinary team members.
• Document patient care meticulously, maintaining clear and complete records that reflect the patient's journey from the initial evaluation through discharge. This documentation will include legible daily encounter notes, interim progress summaries, and thorough discharge evaluations.
• Participate in regular team meetings to discuss patient outcomes, share best practices, and stay informed about hospital policies regarding patient care and safety standards.
• Ensure close communication with patients, family members, and third-party payors to facilitate optimal care coordination and support.
• Stay compliant with ongoing training requirements, adhering to state and federal regulations in healthcare.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work primarily with a diverse orthopedic patient population, which includes athletes recovering from sports injuries, individuals recovering from joint replacement surgeries, and those managing chronic orthopedic conditions. Your expertise will play a crucial role in not only managing pain and restoring mobility but also in enhancing the overall quality of life for our patients.

Qualifications

To excel in this position, candidates must possess:

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
• A valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapist in Florida.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, specifically for Healthcare Providers, conferred by the American Heart Association.

Preferred Experience

A minimum of two years of relevant experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting is required. We value familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and advanced physical therapy modalities, as these will enhance our treatment capabilities and improve patient outcomes.
