Assembly Technician

AssemblerThis position tends to special-purpose loading and unloading materials.• Move and/or assist in moving material needed in production machines in an assigned production area.• Assist in the loading and unloading of material in an assigned production area• Transports material from one production area to another – by pushing/pulling a cart• Assist in lifting and moving heavy loads as required• Assemble glass packs as required by the production area• Operate equipment to assist in the production process• Assemble materials as required by the production area• Inspect finished product for defects, to ensure that quality standards are met• Ensures work area is maintained in an orderly and safe manner per company procedures.• Other duties may be assigned by the management team.Self-starter, detail oriented, flexibility, learning orientation, quality conscientious, teamwork, interpersonal skills, problem-solvingEducation: H.S. diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience: Preferred experience in a production setting or in a similar role in a manufacturing environment or equivalent experience in similar roles in a manufacturing environment. Experience in glass manufacturing desiredComputer Skills: Basic PC skillsMathematical Abilities: Basic Math--Ability to read a tape measure and understand fractions and decimals.Analytical or Reasoning Abilities: Ability to comprehend and carry out instructionsCommunication Skills: (Writing, Foreign Language, Reasoning) Effective communication skills written and oral in English and Spanish (preferred)Team-oriented individual, flexible, and adaptable to a continuous improvement environment.Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time up to 10 hours/day, to walk up to 10 hours/day and/or sit for up to 30-60 minutes/day, twisting or bending up to 10 hours/day, overhead work up to 10 hours as needed per production area.Ability to lift/pull/push 50 lbs. up to 50 % of the shift.Work is on the manufacturing floor interfacing with employees, and inspectors, monitoring, and supporting the manufacturing/production floor shop environment as job duties require.May be exposed to loud operating machinery and hot/cold temperatures.Use of proper PPE as required per company policy
