Preschool Aftercare Coordinator

Title: Preschool Aftercare Coordinator Supervisor: Director of Auxiliary Programs Hours: 20 hours per week, 4 hours per day Monday-Friday, 2:00-6:00pm Pay rate: $25-27/hour The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate and support the daily operations of the Preschool Aftercare Program, ensuring a high-quality experience for students and families. The Preschool Aftercare Coordinator works in partnership with the Director of Auxiliary Programs to implement program goals, maintain best-practice standards, support staff and student needs, and foster a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment that promotes student growth and well-being. Job Responsibilities Supervise students during aftercare hours, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and structured environment. Lead and facilitate age-appropriate activities, games, outdoor recreation, and quiet-time programming. Support positive student behavior by reinforcing school expectations and established policies. Coordinate student dismissal procedures and verify that students are released only to authorized adults. Communicate effectively with the Director of Auxiliary Programs and other school staff regarding student needs, safety concerns, and behavioral issues. Interface with preschool parents to share relevant information about their children in the aftercare program. Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging aftercare space that promotes student participation and well-being. Requirements and Qualifications Minimum of 12 units, OR minimum of 6 credits complete AND currently enrolled in at least 2 units Available to work weekday afternoons Experience working with preschool children in a school setting, or similar setting such as a summer camp Courteous, warm, and professional demeanor Ability to follow directions and flexibly problem solve Detail-oriented and well-organized Health Screening, TB clearance, and background fingerprinting clearance required A full school year commitment is expected Salary Range : $25-$27 per hour ADA Requirements Marin Primary & Middle School is in full compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and does not discriminate with regard to applicants or employees with disabilities, and will make reasonable accommodations when necessary.
