Staff Accountant

Description Position Summary The Staff Accountant supports the hotel's Finance Department by ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, and compliance with Hyatt policies and accounting standards. The role works closely with department managers and the Director of Finance. Key Responsibilities Prepare daily, weekly, and month-end journal entries. Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank accounts. Assist with month-end and year-end close processes. Prepare account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies. Review and reconcile accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash transactions. Assist with payroll reconciliations and labor reporting. Prepare financial reports for management. Ensure compliance with Hyatt accounting policies and internal controls. Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Assist with audits and provide requested documentation. Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation. Requirements Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 1–3 years of accounting experience (hospitality experience is a plus). Knowledge of GAAP. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with ERP or hotel accounting systems (such as Oracle, BirchStreet, or similar) is preferred. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Skills Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Strong problem-solving skills.
