Classification & Compensation Specialist- HRD Division

Overview Performs human resources work in the HR Programs Section of the Texas Department of Transportation’s Human Resources Division. Work involves assisting in preparing and maintaining job descriptions and the department’s positions in PeopleSoft’s Human Capital Management (HCM) Module. Employees at this level follow standard practices that do not require frequent supervision of details. Essential Duties Enters personnel actions related to reviews conducted by the classification and compensation team. Maintains documents on the HR programs SharePoint site. Assists analysts with position updates for career ladder promotions and other reviews. Updates organizational charts as needed. Creates and coordinates the publishing of the HRD job listing bimonthly or more frequently as directed. Maintains and updates HR Programs Section job aids, presentations, and other educational and informational materials on a quarterly basis or in coordination with policy, procedure, or system changes; monitors internet/intranet content to include hyperlink testing and coordinates the publication of updates as required. Assists in preparing and maintaining job descriptions. Retrieves and maintains information and data from a variety of database systems. Monitors the group electronic mailbox to include responding to or forwarding questions, and creating, updating, or inactivating the department's positions. Coordinates the gathering, publishing, and storing of district and division organizational charts. Performs other job responsibilities as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent in General Education. College education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis. Experience: 2 years of experience in human resources support work. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent). Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle. Preferred Qualifications Prefer Oracle PeopleSoft HCM user experience to include Position Management and HR Core modules.
