Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop effective treatment plans tailored to each client’s unique needs and circumstances.

• Create pre-crisis and crisis plans, including behavioral guidelines and risk assessments to ensure the safety and well-being of clients.

• Complete all required documentation accurately and promptly, adhering to state regulations and organizational standards.

• Utilize evidence-based screening tools as recommended by the clinical team to inform treatment decisions.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and implement positive behavior support plans that enhance client outcomes.

• Engage actively in all licensing and accreditation processes, maintaining compliance with industry standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Mental Health Counselor at Solomon Counseling Center, you will work with a diverse population, including individuals facing mental health challenges, those undergoing substance use recovery, and clients with developmental disabilities. Your role is critical in providing therapeutic interventions that promote recovery and wellness, ensuring that each client’s voice is valued and heard, and that their treatment process is participatory and empowering.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or a related field.

• Completion of a full-time clinical internship in a mental health setting, providing hands-on experience in therapeutic practices.

• Eligibility for licensure as a Mental Health Counselor in New York State.
\n
• Valid driver’s license in good standing, as remote service may require occasional in-person meetings or support.
\n
• Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to establish trust and rapport with clients rapidly.

• Adept listening skills, with the ability to empathize effectively while offering constructive guidance.
\n
• Strong organizational skills and an unwavering attention to detail in documentation and planning.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working in telehealth or virtual counseling environments is a plus.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems to efficiently manage patient information and documentation.

• A background in conducting group therapy or support sessions.

Compensation and Benefits\n
