Position Overview

Evergreen Diagnostic and Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Child and Adolescent Mental Health Therapist to join our esteemed outpatient practice in Buffalo, New York. Work Environment

The therapy sessions are conducted in a supportive outpatient office setting that emphasizes flexibility and accessibility. While this role is primarily remote, occasional in-person interactions may be required to strengthen therapeutic relationships. Our work hours are from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the potential for evening shifts based on client needs, ensuring we can accommodate families' schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough and sensitive mental health assessments to accurately identify the unique needs of children and adolescents.
• Collaboratively develop and implement personalized treatment plans that consider each child's developmental stage and family dynamics.
• Provide evidence-based interventions, including therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and play therapy, to effectively address behavioral and emotional challenges faced by young clients.
• Facilitate family therapy sessions when appropriate, helping parents and caregivers create a nurturing environment that reinforces positive behavioral changes.
• Work closely with child psychiatrists and health professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to mental health care, striving for the best outcomes.
• Respond to mental health crises with urgency and intention, offering immediate support and intervention strategies when needed.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health, encouraging informed participation in treatment and resource navigation within the community.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring ethical practice at all times.
• Engage actively in team meetings and case consultations to foster a collaborative work culture and build upon shared knowledge.
• Stay up-to-date with current research and best practices in child and adolescent mental health, contributing to ongoing professional development efforts.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on children and adolescents grappling with various mental health concerns, including but not limited to anxiety disorders, depression, ADHD, and emotional regulation issues. Our aim is to create a welcoming and supportive environment where young clients can share their experiences freely and comfortably. Effective engagement with parents and caregivers is essential to our approach, ensuring that we provide holistic support for the family unit.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a comparable field from an accredited institution.
• Valid licensure in the state of New York as an LCSW, LCSW-R, LMHC, or LMFT is required.
• Strong background in therapeutic practices with at least two years of post-licensure experience, particularly with children and adolescents.
• Comprehensive understanding of child and adolescent mental health disorders and proficiency in various therapeutic interventions.
• Excellent communication skills, underscored by a compassionate, child-centered approach.
• Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems to facilitate efficient care and documentation.
• A team player who thrives in a multidisciplinary environment.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with family therapy and crisis intervention techniques tailored to children and adolescents, enhancing the therapeutic process.
• Familiarity with community resources to assist families in accessing additional support systems.
• Ongoing participation in continuing education and training related to child psychology and therapeutic tactics.

Compensation and Benefits
