St. John XXIII College Preparatory, an independent, co-educational, Catholic high school located in the greater Houston suburb of Katy, Texas is accepting applications for a Financial Operations & Reporting Specialist’s position in its Business Office, beginning October 1, 2026. This position is part-time, approximately 20-hours per week.

Overview:

Responsible for budgeting, financial reporting, month/year-end closing, audit coordination, accounts receivable, internal controls, and maintaining accurate GAAP-compliant records, ensuring strong financial stewardship and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:

•

Manage the annual budget with Principal and Finance Committee.

•

Perform month-end/year-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, GAAP reporting.

•

Prepare monthly financial statements and analysis.

•

Attend and present at monthly Finance Committee meetings.

•

Coordinate the annual audit and serve as auditor liaison.

•

Oversee banking, deposits, cash controls, and cash requirements reporting.

•

Process weekly checks/ACH and quarterly sales tax.

•

Maintain internal controls, reporting procedures, and accounting records.

•

Track capital project spending and fixed assets (including depreciation).

•

Complete monthly credit card reconciliations.

•

Manage accounts receivable; support student billing.

•

Provide financial data for grant applications and reporting.

•

Recommend policy/procedure improvements.

•

Maintain confidentiality of financial and donor information.

Skills and Abilities:

•

Strong accounting/GAAP knowledge; nonprofit experience a plus.

•

Excellent organization, analysis, and problem-solving skills.

•

Ability to manage multiple priorities independently.

•

Effective written/verbal communication.

•

Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook; QuickBooks preferred.

•

Professionalism, accuracy, confidentiality, and strong customer service.

Qualifications:

•

Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance.

•

At least five years’ professional experience.

•

Two or more years of full cycle accounting experience required.

•

MBA or CPA (or progress toward CPA) preferred.

•

Private education or non-profit organization experience preferred.

•

Strong computer literacy and ability to navigate online systems.

Physical Requirements:

•

Ability to lift 20 pounds, using proper lifting techniques.

•

Ability to sit, stand, and/or move around the campus as needed.

•

Ability to use a keyboard (or an alternative input device) and other office equipment.

•

Ability to read information, both in print and on a digital screen, for extended periods of time.

• Supporting and living out the values of the Gospel as proclaimed and taught by the Roman
Catholic Church.
• Maintaining a positive and engaging presence in support of all school programs.
• Assemble and manage content for the school newsletter and school website.
• Plan and post content on social media platforms and monitor engagement.
• Ensure consistent branding across all media platforms and communications.
• Ensure postings, updates, releases, etc., are executed on established distribution schedules.
• Coverage of the full range of school activities and events over the course of the academic year.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, business or related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and smart technologies.
• Proficiency in the use of social media platforms.
• Possession of strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift 40 pounds, using proper lifting techniques.
• Ability to sit, stand, and/or move around the campus as needed for extended periods of time.
• Ability to climb bleachers or ladders.
• Ability to use a keyboard (or an alternative input device) and other office equipment.
• Ability to read information, both in printed material and on a digital screen, often for extended
periods of time.
