Chef de Cuisine

HMG+, a leader in hospitality recruiting, is happy to share with you an exciting new opportunity for a Chef De Cuisine role at a premier private membership club in Chicago. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, the Chef de Cuisine will serve as a key member of the culinary leadership team, overseeing daily kitchen operations while helping drive menu execution, seasonal menu development, and overall culinary excellence. Strong leadership and the ability to manage up to 20 BOH employees across two restaurants with external catering needs within the club are important. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with exceptional communication skills, a collaborative leadership style, and the ability to work independently while maintaining the highest standards of quality and service.

• Lead daily kitchen operations and support service execution.
• Partner with the Executive Chef on seasonal menu development and culinary innovation.
• Mentor, develop, and inspire a diverse culinary team.
• Maintain exceptional food quality, consistency, and presentation.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
• Foster a positive, team-oriented kitchen culture.
• Identify operational opportunities and proactively implement solutions.
• Collaborate with leadership to deliver an exceptional dining experience.

• 5+ years of previous experience as a Chef de Cuisine, Executive Sous Chef, or senior culinary leader in fine dining, luxury hospitality, private clubs, or upscale restaurants.
• Michelin-starred restaurant experience is highly preferred.
• Strong background in menu development and research & development.
• Proven leadership and team development experience.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and lead with minimal oversight.
• Passion for hospitality, quality, and creating exceptional guest experiences.
