Patient Service Representative – Norwood & Norfolk LocationsEye Care Specialists is seeking a friendly, dependable, and organized Patient Service Representative to join our team. This position will work at both our Norwood and Norfolk locations and will include a combination of front desk and call center responsibilities.ResponsibilitiesGreet patients and provide a welcoming, professional experienceCheck patients in and out for appointmentsAnswer a high volume of incoming phone calls in a professional and courteous mannerSchedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointmentsAssist patients with questions regarding appointments, office locations, and general practice informationRoute calls and patient messages to the appropriate provider or departmentMake outbound calls as needed for appointment scheduling, confirmations, and follow-upVerify and update patient demographics and insurance informationCollect copayments and patient balancesAssist with referrals and insurance-related informationDocument patient calls and messages accurately in the electronic medical recordCommunicate effectively with patients, providers, clinical staff, and other departmentsHelp manage incoming patient requests and ensure messages are handled in a timely mannerMaintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirementsAssist with additional front desk and administrative duties as neededQualificationsExcellent customer service, telephone, and communication skillsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to multitask and manage a high volume of calls and patient requestsComfortable working in a fast-paced medical office environmentDependable, professional, and able to work effectively as part of a teamStrong computer and data-entry skillsPrevious medical office, call center, scheduling, or receptionist experience is preferred but not requiredExperience with electronic medical records, insurance verification, and medical terminology is a plusBenefits for Full-Time Employees10 paid holidays10 days of PTO after a 90-day probationary periodMedical, life, and short-term disability insuranceDental plan reimbursement401(k) eligibility after one year of employmentEmployee discounts on eye exams, eyewear, contact lenses, LASIK/PRK, cataract surgery, cosmetic services, and eye care treatmentsBenefits for Part-Time EmployeesFlexible schedulingEmployee discounts on eye exams, eyewear, contact lenses, LASIK/PRK, cataract surgery, cosmetic services, and eye care treatments
