Business Development Manager

Location: Wallonia, Belgium (with European travel) Contract: Permanent position (CDI) or independent contractor About KitoZyme KitoZyme is an innovative biotech company developing high-value solutions based on fungal chitosan , a natural biopolymer with unique functional properties. Our objectives? To give meaning to science by transforming breakthrough research into sustainable, high-impact solutions . At KitoZyme, we: Develop eco-designed, responsible solutions Turn scientific excellence into real-world applications Build strategic platforms with strong societal impact We are now launching a new strategic business platform focused on fungal chitosan applications in: Wound care Our ambition is to structure and scale a new business activity — from market exploration to initial commercial validation. Your Mission As the project owner, you will transform scientific potential into concrete business opportunities. You will drive value creation from market insight to product positioning, working in close collaboration with R&D. Key Responsibilities Explore and analyze wound care, dermato and hemostasis markets Identify unmet needs and application opportunities Define positioning and value propositions Co‑develop solutions with R&D and external partners Structure the business model and development roadmap Initiate and lead industrial and scientific partnerships Scientific background (Master’s degree or PhD) with a strong interest in business development and marketing Minimum 5 years’ experience in business development / new business in innovative environments Experience in wound care, dermato‑cosmetics, medical devices or biomaterials Strong affinity for product development and innovation Comfortable at the interface between R&D and business Experience in a large corporate environment is a plus Soft Skills Entrepreneurial mindset and autonomy Strong scientific and market curiosity Ability to structure and prioritize in uncertain environments Natural leadership and impact‑driven approach Why Join Us?
