Human Resources Generalist

The Human Resources Generalist, reporting into the Human Resources Manager, is responsible for handling worker's compensation administration, human resources information system management, training and development, leave administration, compensation, performance management, and assisting with talent acquisition functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manages workers compensation administration for all locations from inception of claim to settlement
• Collaborates with Health and Safety team to handle the interactive process and leaves of absence
• Submits work-related injuries to insurance company within required timeframe
• Partners with workers compensation adjusters for claim review & follow up, weekly
• Tracks and reports on workers compensation metrics, in conjunction with the Health and Safety team
• Performs HR transactions in Dayforce and WC Admin Site
• Completes HR Scorecard monthly
• Manages leave of absence administration and records for Cerritos and La Mirada locations.
• Processes and administers Federal and State laws related to leaves of absence (PDLA, CFRA, FMLA, ADA, WC etc.)
• Participates in the performance management/compensation processes
• Develops and implements HR development programs for supervisors
• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices
• Supports internal customers with Dayforce and employment policy questions
• Escalates employee relation matters to the HR Operations Manager
• As necessary, handles exempt-level professional and non-exempt recruiting to support business needs.
• Maintains I-9 files
• In absence of HR Operations Manager, reviews bi-weekly payroll for accuracy and completeness
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Education/Experience:

• Ability to communicate in English and Spanish languages to communicate with internal customers
• Computer Skills; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced office environment
• Strong organization skills
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
• Offer elevated level of customer service
• Must secure sensitive and confidential information
• Proficiency in CA and Federal employment-related laws
• Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field is preferred
• 4+ years of Human Resource Generalist experience preferred
• HR Certification is preferred
