Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students as a contract paraprofessional working with school teams serving students with hearing loss. This engaging on-site role begins as soon as possible and runs through the end of May 2027. You'll work a steady 37.5 hours each week at a single school location—either Highlands High School or Mission Academy in the San Antonio area (sites are just 13 minutes apart and the final campus assignment will be confirmed upon hiring).

Your focus will be dedicated support for children and teens, facilitating equal access to curriculum and communication in American Sign Language (ASL)-inclusive settings. It’s a collaborative environment where your presence truly makes a difference.

Qualifications/Desired Background:

• Possess one of the following:
  • Associate’s degree or higher
  • At least 48 recognized college semester hours plus completion of a paraeducator course via Stedi.org with a passing score
  • Relevant pediatric or school-based experience, especially with students with hearing loss
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree
• Ability to pass a fingerprinting/background check per time-sensitive credentialing requirements
• Strong ASL skills and previous paraprofessional or educational support experience preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide in-class and small group support to students, ensuring communication access and inclusion
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and staff to adapt activities and foster a supportive learning environment
• Demonstrate empathy, resourcefulness, and clear communication with students
• Assist with documentation or reporting as needed
