About A & Associates, Inc.
A & Associates, Inc. is a nationally recognized workforce solutions and operational support firm serving public-sector, commercial and institutional clients since 2003.
We provide temporary staffing, temp-to-hire, direct placement, payroll services, security, event staffing and operational support solutions. Our reputation is built on professionalism, accountability, responsiveness and results.
As we continue expanding our national presence, we are seeking an experienced, polished and results-driven Business Development Manager based in the Tampa or Orlando region. This individual will develop new business throughout Florida and support strategic growth across the East Coast.
This is an opportunity for a confident business-development professional who understands the staffing industry, knows how to build relationships and is prepared to turn opportunities into measurable revenue.
Position Overview
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, developing and securing new staffing and workforce-solutions business.
This position requires a proactive sales professional who can build a qualified pipeline, engage decision-makers, conduct discovery meetings, present solutions, negotiate service terms and move opportunities through the full sales cycle.
The Business Development Manager will work closely with executive leadership, recruiting, staffing and operations teams to ensure that client expectations are accurately communicated and that new business can be successfully implemented.
This is a production-focused role. Success will be measured by qualified opportunities, new client acquisition, revenue growth, account profitability and consistent pipeline management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new staffing and workforce-solutions business throughout Florida and the East Coast region.
- Identify and engage prospective clients in the public and private sectors.
- Build relationships with executives, human resources leaders, procurement professionals, operations managers and other decision-makers.
- Conduct outbound prospecting through telephone calls, email campaigns, referrals, networking and targeted market research.
- Schedule and lead discovery meetings, client presentations and service discussions.
- Assess client workforce challenges and recommend appropriate staffing, payroll, direct-hire or operational-support solutions.
- Develop and maintain a qualified sales pipeline in Salesforce or other designated CRM platforms.
- Prepare and present proposals, service agreements, pricing recommendations and capability information.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop competitive and financially responsible pricing strategies.
- Negotiate service terms within established company guidelines.
- Monitor procurement portals, bid platforms and other resources for relevant business opportunities.
- Support responses to requests for proposals, requests for qualifications and other client solicitations.
- Attend networking events, conferences, association meetings and community-business activities.
- Coordinate the transition of newly acquired accounts to recruiting, staffing and operations teams.
- Maintain regular communication with new clients during onboarding and implementation.
- Identify opportunities to expand services within existing accounts.
- Maintain accurate records of calls, meetings, opportunities, proposals and projected revenue.
- Prepare sales forecasts, pipeline reports and business-development activity updates.
- Stay informed about labor-market conditions, industry trends, competitor activity and client needs.
- Protect company pricing, strategy, client information and other confidential business records.
- Represent A & Associates with professionalism, confidence, discretion and sound business judgment.
- Meet established revenue, gross-profit, pipeline and client-acquisition goals.
- Perform additional business-development responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of business development, sales or account-development experience.
- Staffing, recruiting, workforce solutions, payroll services or related industry experience required.
- Demonstrated ability to prospect, develop relationships and secure new business.
- Understanding of temporary staffing, temp-to-hire, direct placement or payroll-service models.
- Knowledge of staffing pricing, bill rates, pay rates, markups or gross-margin considerations.
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Professional telephone presence and ability to communicate with executive-level decision-makers.
- Experience conducting discovery meetings and presenting business solutions.
- Strong negotiation, organization and follow-through skills.
- Ability to manage multiple opportunities at different stages of the sales cycle.
- Experience using Salesforce or another customer relationship management system.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel throughout Florida and within the East Coast region as business needs require.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, human resources or a related discipline.
- Established professional relationships within the Tampa or Orlando business community.
- Experience selling staffing services to government agencies, municipalities, educational institutions, construction firms, healthcare organizations or large commercial employers.
- Experience with procurement portals, government contracting or proposal development.
- Documented history of meeting or exceeding sales and revenue goals.
- Experience developing multiple service lines or expanding existing client accounts.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is polished, strategic and persistent.
You know how to enter a market, identify the right decision-makers and create meaningful conversations.
You do not confuse activity with production, and you understand that business development requires discipline, consistency and strong follow-through.
You are comfortable making calls, attending meetings, presenting solutions and asking for the business. You can work independently, but you also understand that successful staffing sales require close coordination with recruiting and operations.
You bring confidence without arrogance, urgency without chaos and professionalism to every client interaction.
Performance Expectations
Success in this role will be measured by:
- Development and maintenance of a qualified sales pipeline.
- Consistent prospecting and client-development activity.
- Qualified discovery meetings and presentations.
- New client acquisition.
- Revenue and gross-profit production.
- Accuracy of CRM records and sales forecasts.
- Timely and professional follow-up.
- Quality and profitability of acquired business.
- Successful coordination of new-account implementation.
- Expansion of services within assigned accounts and markets.
- Responsiveness, accountability and professional representation of the company.
Performance will be reviewed during the introductory period and at regular intervals thereafter.
Potential for Growth
This position offers the opportunity to play a meaningful role in the continued expansion of a national workforce-solutions organization.
The Business Development Manager will gain exposure to regional and national sales strategies, public- and private-sector contracting, strategic account development, proposal management and multiple workforce-service lines.
Future advancement may be available based on demonstrated performance, revenue production, leadership ability, professional development and the evolving needs of the company.
Work Environment
This is a full-time position based in the Tampa or Orlando region and supporting business-development activity throughout Florida and the East Coast.
The position includes telephone and email prospecting, virtual meetings, client visits, presentations, networking events and other external business-development activities.
Regional and East Coast travel may be required. Occasional early-morning, evening or special-event participation may be necessary based on client and business-development needs.
Equal Employment Opportunity
A & Associates, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer. Employment decisions are made without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, genetic information or any other status protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
This policy applies to all aspects of employment, including recruitment, hiring, placement, promotion, compensation, training and termination.
A & Associates, Inc. is committed to maintaining a professional workplace free from unlawful discrimination and harassment. Reasonable accommodations are available to qualified applicants and employees with disabilities in accordance with applicable law.
How to Apply
Qualified candidates should submit a current résumé outlining their staffing-industry experience, business-development accomplishments, client relationships and measurable sales results.
Applicants should be prepared to discuss their approach to building a staffing sales pipeline, developing new accounts and generating sustainable revenue within the Florida and East Coast markets.
