Key Responsibilities\n

• Develop and maintain rapport with students and their families through active listening and effective communication tailored to their needs.

• Utilize electronic medical records efficiently to document patient encounters and ensure that records are updated within 48 hours of service provision.

• Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality while being an active participant in treatment team meetings and case discussions.

• Identify and connect patients to appropriate community resources that align with their personal goals, interests, and treatment plans.
\n
• Respond promptly to inquiries from patients and families regarding appointments and address any concerns related to mental health services.

• Refer patients for psychiatric evaluations as prescribed by BCHC’s medical staff and consult with our consulting psychiatrist for medication recommendations.

• Stay informed about best practices in population-based healthcare to effectively manage chronic and preventive care conditions.
\n
• Engage in continuous professional development through supervision sessions and participation in quality improvement initiatives.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The focus of this role is primarily on school-aged children and adolescents from underserved communities, many of whom face significant socioeconomic challenges. Your ability to relate to these young individuals and their families with cultural sensitivity and a trauma-informed approach will be vital in fostering a trusting therapeutic relationship. You will provide essential support to students dealing with behavioral health issues, including emotional distress, trauma, and mental health disorders.
