Receptionist, Elementary

The Receptionist will assist in providing information and direction to staff, students, parents and public. Qualifications

Required:

• High school graduate or GED from an accredited institution

Preferred:

• One+ years job related experience

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Ability to work well with children
• Ability to communicate effectively

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

• Operate telecommunication system to screen calls, transfer calls, respond to inquiries and/or take messages
• Evaluate situations/questions and take appropriate action or direct to appropriate personnel for solution
• Process documents/materials and disseminate to appropriate parties
• Receive and greet visitors, obtain names and nature of business and direct to appropriate personnel
• Prepare and maintain records as required
• Participate in staff development and faculty meetings as assigned
• Distribute and post mark mail
• Keep track of all deliveries from UPS and FedEx
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Working/Special Conditions: The usual and customary methods of performing this job require the following: Job may require prolonged periods of time sitting, moderate standing, stooping, bending, reaching and repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer. Ability to maintain emotional control under stress. May require some lifting no more than 10lbs. Overtime is required as necessary.
