Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct initial assessments through preliminary interviews, ensuring thorough documentation from consultation through to treatment completion.

• Evaluate clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health, employing clinical assessments and diagnostic tools.

• Design and implement tailored intervention and recovery plans for individual clients, couples, families, and groups, based on evidence-based practices.
\n
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions to foster personal growth and healing.
\n
• Monitor and assess client progress during treatment, adjusting plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.
\n
• Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team to devise comprehensive intervention plans that include input from various specialists.
\n
• Engage with psychiatrists and attending physicians for clients needing medication management or hospitalization, adhering to continuity of care standards.
\n
• Identify risk factors and implement strategies to prevent setbacks and promote recovery, including crisis intervention when necessary.

• Support families and caregivers in understanding and managing their loved ones' mental health challenges through education and direct involvement.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a mental health counselor at North Oasis Behavioral Health Center, you will work with a diverse clientele, including individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and addiction. Our clients range from children to adults, and you will be a crucial part of their journey toward improved mental health, helping them navigate challenges tailored to their unique needs.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current, valid licensure as either an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California.
\n
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Proven experience in the field as a mental health counselor, demonstrating knowledge and skill in various therapeutic modalities.

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, preferably including experience with AVATAR.
\n
• Insight into underlying physical and emotional conditions affecting mental health, including addiction disorders.
\n
• Awareness of best practices established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Strong understanding of psychotropic medications and their effects on clients.
\n
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, complemented by strong interpersonal skills.
