Machine Operator 2nd Shift

Job TitleRuns Wire & Cable machines such as extruders, braiders, stripers, bunchers, planetary, re-spoolers, and twinners by performing the following duties.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Set-up and operation of machines in accordance to written work instruction and safety protocols.Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.Pushes button or switch to activate machine once set up is complete and verified.Observes machine operation to detect machine malfunction and monitor cable quality throughout the process.Trouble shooting process problems.Willing to receive and provide cross-training in all machine operations.Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Ability to review and comprehend documentation, processes and/or product with high level of detailExcellent verbal & written communication skillsExcellent organizational and interpersonal skillsAbility to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Familiarity with measuring tools; micrometer, caliper, measuring tape etc.Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Applies feedback to improve performance; Monitors own work to ensure qualityIs consistently at work and on time and arrives at meetings and appointments on timeFollows instructions, responds to management direction; Commits to extended work hours when necessary to reach goalsWilling to participate in cross-training effortsTreats co-workers and management team with respectEducation and Experience:High School diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.This position requires successful completion of a pre-employment background check as a condition of employment.Target Pay Rate: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour.Physical Demands:Requires ability to stand for extended periods; walk; use hands to grip and feel and reach with hands and arms.Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs.Requires the ability to distinguish colors.Use of safety glasses and safety toe shoes requiredCore work schedule of 2pm-10:45pm Monday - Friday with availability for OT M-Sa.Due to the nature of the work performed at our facility, all applicants must hold "US Person" status.
