Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations for patients of all ages, employing standardized tests and observational methods.
• Create individualized treatment strategies focusing on both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
• Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions targeting communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing issues.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families, to ensure integrated care plans.
• Provide educational resources to patients and their families to enhance progress during therapy sessions.
• Contribute to inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions when necessary to maintain continuity in patient care.
• Keep meticulous records that comply with state, federal, and institutional regulations.
• Pursue continual professional development by staying abreast of the latest advancements in the field through ongoing education and peer collaboration.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not ASHA-certified.

Certifications

• Active state license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
• Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
